The new Croatian Ambassador presents his credentials

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Behgjet Pacolli received today at a meeting the new Republic of Croatia’s Ambassador to our country Mr. Zoran Vodopija, who presented his credentials at a solemn ceremony staged on the occasion.

Having conveyed to President Pacolli best wishes conveyed to him by the President of Croatia Ivo Josipovic, Ambassador Vodopija underscored that Croatia and Kosovo maintained very good relations, which he said they would foster and expand further in the future.

He said Croatia would continue to support Kosovo in becoming recognised by as many states and its accession to as many international institutions as possible, so that it assumes an important role in the region.

Ambassador Vodopija added Croatia would provide its assistance and experience to Kosovo on its path towards European integration.

President Behgjet Pacolli also highlighted very good relations between the two countries and said he was appreciative of the fact that Croatia had maintained a continuous support for Kosovo both before the war and in the course of all stages that led to Kosovo’s creation as a state.

President Pacolli said that Croatia’s presence was, in all forms, of a special importance. He laid an special emphasis on very good opportunities for economic cooperation and called on Croatian businesses to invest in Kosovo.

President Pacolli also said he was in favour of cooperation with all the countries of the region, so as to facilitate the freedom of movement of people, ideas and goods, as a precondition to the speediest integration of the countries of the region into the Euro-Atlantic community.
