Summit for Democracy: Kosovo presents the progress achieved in the initiation of the thematic group on Rule of Law and Judiciary Reforms

During the meeting of the main group of the Summit for Democracy in Washington DC, several proposals from the Republic of Kosovo were included in the draft statement for the second Summit.

The Kosovo team consisting of the President's Chief of Staff Mr. Blerim Vela, and the President's Legal Adviser Mr. Yll Sadiku, also presented the progress achieved with the partners from the Dominican Republic in the initiation of the thematic group on Rule of Law and Judiciary Reforms.

On December 9th of last year, Kosovo was invited by President Biden to be part of the first edition of the Summit for Democracy, a platform that has united countries from all parts of the globe in their efforts to consolidate democratic values and promote and empower them.

The three commitments of the Republic of Kosovo aim to (1) strengthen the rule of law and the fight against corruption, (2) fight authoritarianism and (3) advance human rights, diversity and inclusiveness with a focus on advancing the rights of women and gender equality.
