President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs Atifete Jahjaga welcomes the decision by the International Tribunal on War Crimes in the Former Yugoslavia to declare the former Prime Minister of Kosovo and Chairman of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo Mr Ramush Haradinaj, not guilty of all charges.
President of Kosovo expresses her satisfaction that Mr Haradinaj will be returning to his family, to the citizens of Kosovo and to his country in order to continue to provide his contribution in the consolidation and strengthening of the democratic processes that our country is currently going through. Today’s decision of the Hague Tribunal on Mr Haradinaj and his co-fighters Mr Lahi Brahimaj and Idriz Balaj is another confirmation that our war was a just one and that leaders of our fight for liberation are not guilty for the crimes they are being accused for.
President of Kosovo at the same time congratulates the citizens of Kosovo for the cooperation with the Hague Tribunal in the search for justice for the war crimes committed in Kosovo and for their patience during this time frame.
Madam President also expresses her gratitude to the institutions and citizens of the country for their determination to cooperate with the Tribunal, thus becoming an example for the region and confirming our readiness as a state and a society towards fulfilment of our obligations towards the international justice, upon which the citizens of Kosovo have placed their complete trust.
