Prime Minister Thaçi informed President Jahjaga about the proceedings of the dialogue process taking place in Brussels

President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, received today at a meeting the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Hashim Thaçi, who informed her about the dialogue process between the Governments of the Republic of Kosovo and Republic of Serbia, taking place in Brussels, process this mediated by the European Union and strongly supported by the United States of America.

Prime Minister Thaçi informed President Jahjaga with the proceedings of the last meeting between the two Prime Ministers in Brussels and about the agreements reached, which will take their final shape at the next meeting, to be held on March 4th. Prime Minister said that agreement has been reached on the dissolution of the Serbian police and intelligence units in Kosovo and on transformation of other existing Serbian structures. Agreement has also been reached on the establishment of the Association of existing Municipalities with Serbian ethnic majority and that in four municipalities in the north of Kosovo elections are to be held for Municipal Assemblies and for Mayors, as well as on functionalisation of the justice and court systems which includes the establishment of two municipal courts of the Republic of Kosovo in Leposavic and Zvecan.

Prime Minister stated that all agreements are in full respect of the Constitution and Laws of the Republic of Kosovo and have a strong backing of international institutions and at the same time are implementable and are acceptable to all our citizens.

President Jahjaga gave her full support to the dialogue process between the Governments of the Republic of Kosovo and Republic of Serbia, being held in Brussels by the two respective Prime Ministers. She emphasized that dialogue process is proving to be the only successful way towards the normalisation of relations between the Republic of Kosovo and Republic of Serbia, as tow neighbouring and independent states, and that all agreements reached fully respect the highest European normative and standards and the Constitution and the Laws of the Republic of Kosovo, its sovereignty and territorial integrity and implementation of the Governmental authority in the whole territory of our state.
