Prishtina, June 23rd 2020 – President of the country Hashim Thaçi received today a delegation of the Egyptian community led by MP Veton Berisha, in honour of the International Day of the Egyptians in Kosovo.
President Thaçi said that the Egyptian community is a wealth to this country and that it is great success we have achieved such a massive harmony between communities in Kosovo.
“Each community must be supported in preservation and strengthening of its own identity. But we must do more in creation of as comprehensive conditions as possible for integration and employment of members of communities in Kosovar society,” said President Thaçi.
Member of the Kosovo Parliament, representing Egyptian community, Veton Berisha, stated that Kosovo has established a rather covetous legal framework, which include a considerable number of rights, but which in practice are faced by great hindrances.
Thanking President Thaçi for the support given to the Egyptian community, MP Berisha asked for even greater engagement in promotion of the rights of the Egyptian community in Kosovo.
President Thaçi expressed his gratitude for the contribution of the Egyptian community to our young state.
