The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, received today in a meeting Dr. Andreas Khol, former President of the Austrian National Parliament during the period 2002-2006 and MP from 1983.
The President thanked him for the important role in internationalizing the Kosovo issue since the 1990s as a fierce critic against the violation of the rights of the Kosovo Albanians and against the closure of the Albanian university, academy and schools.
“Austria has been and remains among the main friends of Kosovo. Thank you for the presence at the celebrations of the 10th anniversary”, the President said.
On the other hand, the former President of the National Parliament of Austria, Dr. Andreas Khol congratulated the President and people of Kosovo on the tenth anniversary of the independence.
“For the first time I came to Kosovo in 1991 and I understand why Kosovo seeks freedom and independence. It makes me happy to see a completely different Kosovo, a built up Kosovo”, he added.
At the end of the meeting President Thaçi said that Austria is a supporter and nothing shakes the good relations between the two states.
