President Thaçi received the Ambassadors of the Quint countries and the EU Ambassador

Prishtina, March 30th 2020 – President of the Republic of Kosovo Hashim Thaçi, met today with the Ambassadors of the Quint countries and with the EU ambassador in Prishtina, in order to inform them for the steps he will undertake after the dismissal of the Kurti Government by the Assembly of Kosovo last week

The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of the United States of America, Ambassador of the United Kingdom, German Ambassador, French Ambassador, Italian Ambassador and the Head of the EU office in Kosovo.

President Thaçi stated that “after the dismissal of the Kurti Government by the Assembly of Kosovo on March 25th,   he will in a continuous manner undertake steps in conformity with the Constitution of Kosovo, laws of Kosovo and with the duties as President of the Republic of Kosovo.”

The President added that during this week there will be consultations held with all parliamentary parties  in order to obtain their suggestion and advice on which path needs to be followed, based upon the Constitution and the laws of the Republic of Kosovo.

He also pointed out that as the President of the Republic of Kosovo  he shall decide in favour of the best option to get out of the situation we find ourselves in, after the dismissal of the Government of Kosovo.

The head of state emphasized that Kosovo needs a government which will bring stability, as wide as possible political and civic unity, a comprehensive one and with a clear Euro-Atlantic orientation.
