President Thaçi received at a farewell meeting the non-resident Canadian Ambassador, Daniel Maksymiuk

Prishtina, July 3rd – President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, received today at a farewell meeting the non-resident Ambassador of Canada, Daniel Maksymiuk, whom he thanked for the advancement of the cooperation between Kosovo and Canada during his tenure.

“I am personally grateful to you for the augmentation of the bilateral cooperation between our two countries, for the increased dynamism,” said President Thaçi.

The head of state said that Kosovo is grateful to Canada for the continuous support.

“Kosovo is grateful to Canada for its continuous support of every initiative, at every organisation or international forum,” and added that “I am pleased that we have commenced with concrete cooperation in the fields of security, defence as well as economy,” said President Thaçi.

Ambassador Maksymiuk stated that he was pleased with the cooperation he had with the institutions of Kosovo and with the increase in cooperation between the two countries.

“Canada supports the endeavours for sustainable peace in in Kosovo and in the region and Kosovo’s aspiration for NATO and EU membership, “said Ambassador Maksymiuk.

President Thaçi added that Kosovo could learn a lot from Canadian experiences and thanked Ambassador Maksymiuk for initiating such initiatives from which the state and the society of Kosovo will greatly benefit.

At the end of the meeting, President Thaçi wished Ambassador Maksymiuk lots of successes in his new engagements.
