Prishtina, October 02, 2020 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi met today with the Ombudsman, Naim Qelaj, with whom he discussed about the work of the ombudsman institution in the service of the citizens of Kosovo.
While congratulating the ombudsman on his new task, President Thaçi emphasized the special role and importance of this institution to guarantee the rights of the citizens of Kosovo.
“In the meeting I had with the newly elected Ombudsman, Naim Qelaj, we discussed the work and responsibility of the institution that he will represent and lead within the constitutional mandate. The institution of the Ombudsperson has already a tradition of protecting the rights of our citizens regardless of political, ethnic and religious differences.
Mr. Naim Qelaj, to whom I wished good luck, pledged that through the given trust he will be committed with professionalism, courage and responsibility to strengthen the institution of the Ombudsman in the service of protecting the rights of all citizens”, stated President Thaçi
