President Thaçi met with NATO General Secretary Stoltenberg

New York, September 24th – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, met with the NATO General Secretary under the proceedings of the United Nations General Assembly, with whom he discussed about the excellent cooperation with NATO and KFOR and about the KSF transformation into the Kosovo Army.

President Thaçi pointed out that institutions of Kosovo have excellent cooperation with NATO, which is the guarantor of peace and stability in the western Balkans.

“KFOR continues to do an excellent job in Kosovo”, said President Thaçi.

President Thaçi also stated that the process of KSF transformation into the Kosovo Army is proceeding in foreseen dynamics, as determined by the institutions of Kosovo in cooperation with international partners.

“The KSF today is a professional, NATO standards force, trained by NATO, a multi ethnic force which engages for equal gender representation”, said President Thaçi.

Secretary General Stoltenberg said that NATO remains dedicated to the preservation of peace and stability in Kosovo and in the western Balkan region.

President Thaçi added that the time has come to advance our relations and Kosovo to join NATO.
