President Thaçi met with Minister Duncan in London, discussed about lasting peace in Kosovo and the region

London, December 6, 2018 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, after the United States of America, has traveled for a one-day visit to the United Kingdom.

President Thaçi met today in London with Sir Alan Duncan, Minister of State for Europe and the Americas in the British government.

The Head of State has informed the British minister on the efforts of building lasting peace in Kosovo and the region.

“Kosovo has made great strides in reforms and is interested to continue with these steps in the future as well”, said President Thaçi.

“We are also working on a peaceful, inclusive and final agreement with Serbia”, he added.

On the other hand, Minister Duncan said that Great Britain supports the Euro-Atlantic perspective of Kosovo and the region.

“We support the efforts of building lasting peace and stability throughout the region of Southeast Europe”, stated Minister Duncan.

President Thaçi in the meeting with Minister Duncan emphasized that Kosovo wants to become a contributor to peace in the region and beyond, and in the service of this are also the efforts for an agreement with Serbia, which will bring the mutual recognition and closure of the conflict chapter.

With Minister Duncan, President Thaçi also spoke about the commitments to conclude the transformation process of the Kosovo Security Force.
