Prishtina, December 24, 2018 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, received today in a meeting the chairpersons of the Negotiation Team of Kosovo, Fatmir Limaj and Shpend Ahmeti.
President Thaçi has talked with the chairpersons of the Negotiation Team about the final phase of the dialogue on the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia, facilitated by the European Union and strongly supported by the United States of America.
President Thaçi also talked with the heads of the Negotiation Team of Kosovo about the necessity of continuing the coordination during the negotiation process and using the momentum for reaching a comprehensive and legally binding final agreement, which should ensure to Kosovo the recognition from Serbia and membership in the UN, NATO and the EU.
This momentum should be utilized and it is necessary to further strengthen the political unity and to speak with one voice about Kosovo.
This was also President Trump’s clear demand to Kosovo’s leadership, which we must respect because it is in full compliance with our state interest.​
