President Thaçi in Osaka, ensures Kosovo’s participation in the largest economic fair in the world

Osaka, September 10 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi on the first day of the official visit to Japan has had numerous meetings in Osaka and Kyoto.

To advance the agenda of economic cooperation and exchange between the two countries, President Thaçi initially held a meeting with representatives of Japan’s chambers of commerce as well as with members of the Japanese Parliament coming from this region.

In this joint meeting, President Thaçi noted that now is the time to create some concrete examples of Japanese investments in Kosovo. He said that the environment of doing business in the Republic of Kosovo is the most competitive in the region.

“We are the 40th place in the World Bank ranking for doing business. Kosovo can easily become a center of Japanese businesses and investments aiming the European market because we have unhindered access to the world’s largest market, the EU market”, he added.

President Thaçi has said that the Republic of Kosovo is also interested to export its products to Japan, which are being exported to other countries of the world as well.

“We will soon appoint an honorary consul in Osaka, who will be a linking bridge between our states, people and businesses”, said President Thaçi.

On the other hand, the hosts of this meeting, the MPs of the Japanese Parliament from this area, Yasuhide Nakayama, Naomi Tokashiki and the President of the Osaka Chamber of Commerce, Tsutomu MIYAGI have expressed their happiness about the level of economic cooperation between the two countries, stressing the need for this cooperation to grow even further.

Also present at his meeting were representatives of various Japanese chambers, the Kansai Association, corporate directors, and the Kansai Business Federation, which has a membership of 1300 businesses, organizations and corporations.

At this meeting the participation of the Republic of Kosovo in the largest fair in the world “Osaka Expo 2025” was confirmed, where our country has provided a pavilion for the promotion of investment opportunities and business products.
