President Thaçi asked for the support of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation

New York, September 25th – President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, together with the prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj and the first deputy Prime Minister, Behgjet Pacolli, held a meeting today with the Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation ( OIC), Yousef bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen.

The opportunities to expand the cooperation between Kosovo and 57 member states of this organisation were explored at the meeting.

President Thaçi asked Secretary Al- Othaimeen for the OIC’s support to the process of the further recognitions of the Republic of Kosovo, the process of Kosovo’s Interpol membership as well as membership in other international organisations.

“OIC has also in the past supported the republic of Kosovo in the increase of recognitions and membership in international organisations. We expect the continuation of your support” said President Thaçi.
 
Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, Yousef bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen said that this organisation will continue its overall support to Kosovo.

President Thaçi will continue the meetings with the representatives of the different states, aiming the advancement of bilateral cooperation, expansion of the number of recognitions and membership in international organisations.
