The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani has received a letter from the
President of the European Parliament, David Maria SASSOLI, through which he
confirms to President Osmani the presence of a delegation in the Republic of Kosovo to
observe the local elections of 17 October 2021.
In the letter sent to President Osmani Mr. Sassoli has written to have received the letter of President Osmani dated 18 June inviting the European Parliament to send a delegation to the Republic of Kosovo to observe the local elections on 17 October 2021.
“I would like to thank you for this invitation and for the trust you place in our institution and the quality and independence of our elections observation activities. I am also particularly pleased to learn from your invitation that the situation regarding the pandemic is stable and positive and much less severe than during the general elections”, it is said in the letter of Sassoli sent to President Osmani.
According to him, the Democracy Support and Election Coordination Group (DEG), at its last meeting decided to include the positive observation of local elections in Kosovo as a priority for the second semester of 2021.
“The Democracy Support and Election Coordination Group (DEG), at its last meeting decided to include the positive observation of local elections in Kosovo as a priority for the second semester of 2021. The DEG will therefore start all the necessary procedures to respond positively to your kind invitation”, concludes the letter sent to President Osmani.
