President Osmani with Minister Lipavský: It is imperative that the visa liberalization process is concluded during the Czech Presidency

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received today at a meeting the Foreign Minister of the Czech Republic Jan Lipavský.

President Osmani emphasized that the Czech Republic is an important ally of our country with whom we share fundamental democratic values and commitment to peace, security and a common future in the Euro-Atlantic family.

The main focus of the meeting between President Osmani and Minister Lipavský was the issue of visa liberalization. Following the meetings that President Osmani had with the Czech leadership in Prague, President Osmani thanked Minister Lipavský for the Czech Republic's constructive engagement toward the conclusion of this process during the Czech Presidency.

President Osmani reiterated the stance that delay in visa liberalization for the people of Kosovo is a great injustice. She added that: “It is extremely important that visa liberalization is on the agenda, therefore we count on the Czech support in this aspect as the current holder of the Presidency of the Council of the EU”, said President Osmani.

Apart from the issue of visa liberalization, President Osmani also spoke about the need to advance the European path for our country. She emphasized the full coordination of Kosovo's foreign and security policies with those of the European Union as proof of the dedication of the institutions and people of Kosovo to European integration. In this regard, President Osmani mentioned that Kosovo will submit its application for a candidate country status this year.

In relation to the dialogue with Serbia, President Osmani pointed out that Kosovo continues to be a constructive party and that the only solution that contributes to lasting peace and stability is a process focused on mutual recognition.
