President Osmani: We are working to guarantee a Republic which we all consider a joint home

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Dr. Vjosa Osmani – Sadriu attended tonight the
marking of the Day of the Turkish Community residing in the Republic of Kosovo.

President Osmani, on behalf of the citizens of Kosovo and of the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, congratulated them on the Day of the Turkish Community in our Republic, and expressed deep gratitude to all members of the Turkish community living in Kosovo. 
 
“Members of the Turkish community in Kosovo are an important part of our country. They are an active part of our society. Today, we are working together with all of you to build a common life in Kosovo. Your representatives at the institutions of the country, whether at the central level, through the participation of your representatives at the Assembly respectively in the Government of the Republic, or in the local level, they have made a significant contribution to the state-building process of Kosovo.
 
“They are cooperating closely with the country's institutions in order to further develop and cultivate democracy in the country, as well as to create better living conditions for all the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo,” said President Osmani. 
 
The head of state said that the state of Kosovo through its Constitution has guaranteed the rights of all communities to develop their cultural, linguistic and ethnic identity. 
 
“We are committed to providing quality education to all children so that they can develop their ethnic and cultural identity in their mother tongue. We are also taking care to ensure decent representation in the central and local institutions of the country. “But, above all, we are working to guarantee a Republic which we all consider a joint home ain which we all feel equal”, emphasized the President. 
 
President Osmani further added that respect for the rights of ethnic, cultural and linguistic communities is a wealth of our country. 
 
She further stated that we will continue to further promote your values ​​as an important part of our cultural, ethnic and linguistic mosaic, as they constitute a precious asset, which we want to preserve and promote because it is wealth that we value. 
 
“As a president of all the citizens of our Republic, I will make sure that the values ​​you represent are constantly treated as our wealth and nurtured from generation to generation. I assure you that the institutions of the country will take care that your representation in all aspects is as wide as possible, that your voice is heard every time, and that your ethnic, cultural and linguistic identity is preserved, nurtured and further promoted, ” said the President. 
 
The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani also pointed out that on this special day we reaffirm that our institutions will also continue the tradition of good relations with the Turkish state, to whom we are extremely grateful for the continued support they provide to the state of Kosovo. 
 
 
“From this place and on this significant day for you, we reiterate that we will work to preserve and promote the identity of the Turkish community living in our country. Mustafa Kemal Ataturk had declared April 23 also Children's Day. “Let this serve as a reminder that in every one of our decisions we turn our eyes to the children and think about the impact that our decisions will have on their future”, said the President.
