The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani Sadriu was received today at a meeting by the President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, to whom she expressed her gratitude for the support given to Kosovo for decades, asking for further support on the path of Euro-Atlantic integration.
President Osmani pointed out that Kosovo is implementing comprehensive reforms in economy and the rule of law, thus proving to be a credible partner but also as a country that develops based on EU values. In this context, she emphasized that Kosovo aims at EU and NATO membership as primary and strategic goals, while thanking Portugal for being a strong voice in favour of visa liberalization for Kosovo.
Regarding the dialogue process with Serbia, President Osmani stressed that Kosovo is committed to regional cooperation and constructive relations with its neighbours, emphasizing that the full normalization of relations with Serbia should include mutual recognition.
President Osmani at the meeting with her counterpart De Sousa expressed the readiness of the state of Kosovo to deepen cooperation with Portugal not only in the field of politics and diplomacy but also in the fields of trade, tourism, defense, education, culture and professional trainings.
