President Osmani was received by the acting Prime Minister of Bulgaria Galab Donev

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, on the first day of her visit to Bulgaria, was received by the acting Prime Minister of Bulgaria Galab Donev.

Bilateral relations, the possibilities for their expansion and the current situation in Kosovo, the region and beyond were discussed at the meeting.

President Osmani emphasized that Kosovo counts on Bulgarian support in its Euro-Atlantic path, stressing that it can also benefit from the experience of this country in this aspect.

Both interlocutors focused on the issue of energy security, while the acting Prime Minister Donev, similar to President Radev, have shown their readiness to support Kosovo with electricity. Both parties confirmed that there will be an interstate meeting of the relevant ministries on this issue.

At the meeting with the acting Prime Minister Donev, Madam President received support for Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe and other international organizations, while informing the acting Prime Minister that Kosovo intends to apply for EU membership by the end of this year.

President Osmani assessed Bulgaria as an important partner in this aspect and asked for the continuation of support for Kosovo in the process of strengthening of its international subjectivity.

In relation to the recent developments in the country, President Osmani emphasized that Kosovo is committed to peace, security and the rule of law throughout the territory of the Republic.

According to President Osmani, the dialogue with Serbia should be focused on mutual recognition, the preservation of territorial integrity, constitutional order and institutional functionality of the Republic of Kosovo.

Furthermore, President Osmani emphasized that Kosovo has made important steps in the field of justice reforms and the implementation of the rule of law.

The two sides have agreed on cooperation in the field of foreign policy, economy, education and other areas of mutual interest.
