President Osmani was received at a working meeting by the President of Austria Alexander Van der Bellen

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani was received today at a working meeting at the Hofburg Palace by the President of the Republic of Austria, Alexander Van der Bellen.

President Osmani congratulated President Van der Bellen on his re-election as head of state of Austria, stating that she is looking forward to the opening of new chapters of cooperation between the two states during his second term.

The President emphasized that Austria is a strategic partner and ally of the people of Kosovo, appreciating its support to Kosovo's Euro-Atlantic path, the conclusion of the liberalization process and membership in the Council of Europe and other international organizations.

The two interlocutors also discussed the latest developments in the region and the current security situation in Europe. President Osmani has said that Kosovo continues to be committed to close cooperation and coordination with Austria and other international allies towards active contribution to lasting peace and security.

Madam President added that it is important that democratic countries continue to coordinate concrete actions in defense of peace and security and democratic values, stressing the need not to tolerate Russia's satellites and their destabilizing tendencies in our region.

In this regard, President Osmani has reiterated the commitment of the institutions of the Republic for the dialogue with Serbia, focused on mutual recognition, as well as the preservation of the sovereignty, constitutional order and functionality of Kosovo.

Furthermore, President Osmani underlined the fact that Kosovo and Austria are united in their attitude toward Russia's unprovoked war on Ukraine, and that at the same time Kosovo is 100% coordinated with the EU in decisions related to foreign policy.
