The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, following the flooding caused by the intense rain, visited the municipalities of Klinë, Skënderaj and Mitrovicë.
At meetings with the Mayors Zenun Elezaj, Fadil Nura and Bedri Hamza, President Osmani emphasized that since last night she has been in constant contact with the security institutions and in this context, she praised the engagements of the municipal structures and emergency institutions in helping the citizens and to minimize the damages caused to the family economies.
President Osmani pointed out that central institutions will maximally engage to support the municipalities affected by the floods.
President Osmani also visited businesses and households that have suffered from the floods. In this spirit, the President asked the security and emergency structures to maximally engage to come to the aid of the citizens and to reduce the consequences created by this extraordinary situation.
“I thank the Kosovo Security Force, the Kosovo Police, the Firefighters, the municipal authorities and all those who are on the ground in the most dangerous areas, in full readiness to provide assistance to the citizens and to protect every single life,” said President Osmani.
President Osmani offered institutional support at all three municipalities and emphasized that the life, health and property of citizens are an absolute priority, with everyone’s engagement and solidarity needed in such a situation.
