The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Dr. Vjosa Osmani – Sadriu, has remembered today the fallen in the village Lugishta of Has, 22 years ago.
According to the President, the killed, the material damages and the survivors of the Lugishta Massacre constitute facts which should be in the function of justice for the identification of the perpetrators of the monstrous crime.
“More than two decades, no responsibility from anyone. Therefore, the inhabitants of this village will find peace when the perpetrators are brought to justice. A mission of ours that will never stop!”, said President Osmani.

22 years ago in the village Lugishta of Has, the Second Battalion of the 549th Motorized Brigade of the Yugoslav Army showed its cruelty by executing 40 men, women and children. Fourteen KLA martyrs also fell during the fighting.
Some of the killed were considered as missing but were later found in massive graves in Has. After the identification in September 1999 they were buried in the graves of the martyrs in this village.
In addition to the 300 damaged houses, Serbian forces also damaged spiritual heritage sites.
