The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Dr. Vjosa Osmani – Sadriu, has remembered the great master of our source music, on his passing away.
President Osmani said that Uncle Shaqa left for eternity, leaving behind a rich legacy of his masterful work in preserving the tradition of making wind instruments, but also cultivating our source music.

The instruments of our source music: the ocarina, flute and kaval, have been left without the great master Shaqir Hoti. Uncle Shaqa left for eternity leaving behind a rich legacy of his masterful work in preserving the tradition of making wind instruments, but also cultivating our source music.
The kaval of Uncle Shaqa has ceased, but his sounds will echo through generations. He will always be remembered as the man who loved, preserved and cultivated our tradition with devotion to the last breath!
May the memory of the master of instruments – Uncle Shaqa – be eternal!
