The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani – Sadriu has written after the passing away of the President of the European Parliament Mr. David Sassoli.
President Osmani said that he left suddenly, leaving a void not only in the post he held but also in the political scene, as a rational, open and dedicated European.
“A year ago, I had the honor to meet Mr. Sassoli in Brussels – a meeting and a discussion that will stay with me forever. “He was not only an immense professional but also a dedicated and committed man, with a special interest in Kosovo, supporting it on its European integration's path,” said the President.

Today the political world is left without the President of the European Parliament, Mr. David Sassoli. He left suddenly, leaving a void not only in the post he held but also in the political scene, as a rational, open and dedicated European. A year ago, I had the honor to meet Mr. Sassoli in Brussels – a meeting and a discussion that will stay with me forever. “He was not only an immense professional but also a dedicated and committed man, with a special interest in Kosovo, supporting it on its European integration's path.
Sincere condolences to his family and friends, as well as to the whole European home, in which he worked diligently, as a supporter of the Western Balkans' integration into the EU.
