The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received today the Secretary of
State at the German Foreign Ministry, Miguel Berger.
President Osmani expressed her gratitude to Germany for the continuous support it has offered to the Republic of Kosovo and its people, emphasizing that this country remains one of the most reliable partners of our country.
Further on, President Osmani touched upon the visa liberalization process for the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, emphasizing that all criteria for liberalization have been met and that there is no reason to further delay this process. In this context, the President stressed the need to further deepen relations between the two countries, including economic, diplomatic and cultural cooperation.
Mrs. Osmani also stressed that the rule of law is a precondition for further development of the Republic of Kosovo and that it brings our country closer to the European Union.
Regarding the dialogue process, President Osmani added that the priority for the Republic of Kosovo should be to clarify the fate of those missing by violence and to conclude the process with mutual recognition. She also stressed that strengthening alliances with friendly countries is essential for the success of our country.
Mr. Berger expressed his condolences to President Osmani for Sunday's tragedy in Croatia. He praised the approach of the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo to guaranteeing economic development and approximation of Kosovo with the EU. According to him, Germany is in favour of visa liberalization for Kosovo citizens. He also stated that Germany will continue to support the Republic of Kosovo in various fields and that they are ready for further expansion of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
