President Osmani received the credentials of the Estonian ambassador Janne Jõesaar-Ruusalu

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received today the credentials of the new ambassador of the Republic of Estonia to Kosovo Janne Jõesaar-Ruusalu, to whom she bid a warm welcome.

President Osmani thanked Ambassador Jõesaar-Ruusalu for Estonia's unwavering support to the Republic of Kosovo to date, considering the partnership between the two states as strategic. In this spirit, President Osmani pointed out the potential for the expansion of cooperation with Estonia in the fields of defense, digitalization and cyber security.

The need to speed up the Euro-Atlantic perspective of the Republic of Kosovo was also discussed at the meeting. President Osmani emphasized that Euro-Atlantic integration is the only guarantee for lasting peace, security and stability in the region and beyond. In this regard, President Osmani appreciated Estonia's support and asked for this support to continue also for Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe and the urgent conclusion of the visa liberalization process.

President Osmani and Ambassador Jõesaar-Ruusalu also discussed the geopolitical developments on the continent, namely the war in Ukraine, as well as the elevated threat induced by Russia and its proxies to peace and security. President Osmani reiterated that Kosovo is politically aligned with Estonia with sanctions against Russia and praised the good cooperation in the international arena.

President Osmani expressed her conviction that the excellent bilateral relations between Kosovo and Estonia will continue to strengthen during Ambassador Jõesaar-Ruusalu's tenure.
