The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received today at a meeting the Chief Executive of the Agency for Gender Equality Mrs. Edi Gusia and Mrs. Vlora Tuzi-Nushi, Head of the UN Women Office in Kosovo.
The meeting was held with an aim to coordinate inter-institutional engagements in guaranteeing and promoting gender equality and advancing the position of girls and women in society and in the public sphere.
The meeting was held after the successful completion of Week of Women, which was this year organized under the auspices of President Osmani and in continuation of the work being done towards fulfilling the commitments of the Summit for Democracy.
Better coordination and involvement of women in decision-making and institutional life were also discussed at the meeting.
The interlocutors agreed to push forward the agenda for girls and women, to help with economic empowerment as well as to protect their rights.
