The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, received today Swedish Ambassador Karin Hernmarck in a farewell meeting, whom she congratulated for the work in Kosovo so far and wished her good luck in her future engagement.
At the meeting with Ambassador Hernmarck, President Osmani thanked the state of Sweden for the continuous support it has given to Kosovo.
According to President Osmani, Kosovo aims for membership in the North Atlantic Alliance, which is necessary and in function of the peace and stability of the region.
President Osmani requested Sweden’s support in the process for membership into the Council of Europe and other international organizations.
Kosovo has marked progress in the field of rule of law, democracy and human rights, so according to President Osmani, membership in the Council of Europe would be beneficial in guaranteeing and respecting the rights of all citizens, without distinction.
