President Osmani received Senator Joni Ernst

The President of Kosovo Dr. Vjosa Osmani met today with the Iowa Senator at the United States Senate Mrs. Joni Ernst, with whom she discussed the excellent relations between Kosovo and the United States and the equally excellent cooperation that Kosovo has with the state of Iowa. President Osmani thanked Senator Ernst for her contribution in promoting the statehood of Kosovo and expressed her pleasure that our two countries are expanding cooperation on daily basis in many fields.

"The support that the state of Iowa, the National Guard of this state, has given to the Kosovo Security Force is extraordinary" said President Osmani. "Thanks to your support, the KSF today is becoming a professionally trained armed force, ready to serve and maintain the peace."

According to madam President, the partnership that our two countries have built on common values and common commitment to democracy is constantly deepening and we expect it to expand in many areas.

"22 years ago your soldiers saved our lives. 22 years later we see new opportunities to further deepen the partnership between our countries, investing in agriculture, education, economy and other fields," said President Osmani.

President Osmani asked Senators Ernst for US assistance for Kosovo's membership in NATO, as this is our strategic goal.

Senator Ernst, meanwhile, expressed her happiness that she was returning to Kosovo and for the expansion of cooperation between the two countries.

She also stressed that she is extremely happy with the professional development of the KSF and its transformation into a force capable of serving peace in the region and in the world.
