The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received today at a meeting the Swiss ambassador Thomas Kolly to discuss the process of Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe.
At this meeting, the excellent relations between the Republic of Kosovo and Switzerland were once again confirmed, expressing the readiness for further expansion of cooperation.
President Osmani emphasized that Switzerland is Kosovo's strategic partner and that relations between the two countries are even more amicable due to the large presence of the Albanian diaspora there.
In this context, President Osmani thanked the Swiss state, which has supported Kosovo throughout the independence and state-building process. President Osmani asked for continued Swiss support in the process of Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe. According to President Osmani, membership in this organization is for the benefit of all citizens of Kosovo without distinction and a great opportunity for the protection of human rights and freedoms. Therefore, Switzerland's strong support in this process is necessary and contributes to the advancement of human rights.
