The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu received a delegation of the Venice Commission, composed of the rapporteur Mrs. Grainne McMorrow, Deputy Secretary Mr. Schnutz Dürr, as well as the Head of the Council of Europe Office in Kosovo, Mr. Frank Power.
During the meeting, President Osmani explained the need for a vetting process in the justice system of the Republic of Kosovo, with the necessary constitutional and legal changes.
President Osmani stressed that a genuine and professional vetting process is vital to strengthen the rule of law, as well as to guarantee the integrity, efficiency and professionalism of the justice system. As such, the vetting process aims to strengthen the quality of the justice system, which directly affects the improvement of the lives of the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo.
The relations and professional cooperation between the Republic of Kosovo and the Venice Commission were also discussed at the meeting.
President Osmani expressed her gratitude for the continuous support that the Venice Commission has provided to the Republic of Kosovo.
