The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received at a meeting the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Albania Ulsi Manja, accompanied by the Minister of Justice of Kosovo Albulena Haxhiu.
At the meeting with the two ministers, President Osmani emphasized that Kosovo has made significant progress in the process of reforms in the filed ofrule of law and order.
She said that reforms in justice system and rule of law are a priority of Kosovo's institutions.
In this context, she stated that cooperation with Albania is necessary, especially in the sphere of expertise support in the issues of justice reforms.
According to President Osmani, vetting is one of the most important processes toward regaining of citizens' trust in justice.
Both presented the need for the approximation of both justice systems in order to facilitate the lives of citizens of both countries.
Kosovo's participation in the Summit for Democracy, initiated by President Biden, in which Kosovo leads the thematic group for rule of law and justice reform was also a discussion point at the meeting.
President Osmani thanked Minister Manja for the fact that Albania has decided to join the thematic group on rule of law and justice reforms, led by Kosovo within the framework of the Summit for Democracy.
At the same time, the two interlocutors agreed on joint engagement for the rights of Albanians in Preshevë, Bujanoc and Medvegjë. In addition, President Osmani and Minister Manja expressed their willingness to further intensify cooperation in the field of justice and the rule of law.
