The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received today at a meeting the
Head of the EU Office Mr. Thomas Szunyog.
On this occasion, Mr. Szunyog formally handed over the letter sent by the EU High Representative, Mr. Josep Borell related to the decision to extend the mandate of the EU Technical Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo.
The parties also discussed the level of the implementation of the Stabilization and Association Agreement and the obligations of both parties stemming from this agreement. President Osmani pointed out that the Republic of Kosovo remains committed to the implementation of this agreement, emphasizing the importance of implementing the obligations arising from it also by the European Union.
Furthermore, the new opportunities for cooperation with the EU were also discussed and several options for increasing and concretizing EU support towards the implementation of appropriate reforms in the country in various fields.
The Head of the EU Mission stated that they have responded positively to the request of the President of Kosovo to send an observation mission for the upcoming local elections and that the EU presence in these elections will be at the required level.
