The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu received at a meeting the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden Karin Hernmarck, to discuss political and security developments in the region and cooperation in advancing the women's agenda, peace and security.
Ambassador Hernmarck informed President Osmani with the Swedish government's decision to apply for NATO membership, citing the threat to security in Europe following the Russian aggression on Ukraine.
The President congratulated Ambassador Hernmack on the decision taken by the Swedish government, emphasizing that this step will contribute to guaranteeing peace and stability on the continent and the world.
Furthermore, President Osmani also requested Sweden's support for Kosovo's membership in international organizations, pointing out that Kosovo is committed to joining Euro-Atlantic structures.
