President Osmani presented the “Order of Freedom” to Mrs. Doris Pack

The President of Kosovo Dr. Vjosa Osmani presented today the “Order of Freedom” to Mrs. Doris Pack, awarded to her by President Rugova in 2004, for her extraordinary contribution to Kosovo's freedom and independence.

In a cordial meeting that President Osmani held with Mrs. Pack, today, who was accompanied by Mr. Daniel Brown, head of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, the President thanked Mrs. Pack for her long commitment to recognition of Kosovo's international subjectivity.

“Your role has been very important throughout our journey. Since the late 1980s, you have been a great promoter of our right to freedom. After the liberation of the country, you have served the recognition and promotion of Kosovo's statehood,” said President Osmani.

Mrs. Osmani and Mrs. Pack also discussed the region's integration process into the European Union, as well as the steps Kosovo is taking to accelerate its Euro-Atlantic integration.

Mrs. Pack, a long-serving member of the German Bundestag and of the European Parliament, as well as chair of the Women's Forum of European People's Parties (EPP Women), pointed out that she understands very well the challenges our country still faces, reasonable challenges for a new state like Kosovo.

“To know Kosovo well, everyone must understand its past,” said Mrs. Pack.

She once again expressed her satisfaction that she was able to serve the people of Kosovo, with whom, as she said, she has a long friendship.
