President Osmani met with the US Undersecretary of State Mrs. Uzra Zeya

As part of the visit to Costa Rica, the President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani Sadriu met today with Mrs. Uzra Zeya, US Undersecretary of State for Civil Security, Democracy, and Human Rights at the President Joe Biden's Administration.

With Undersecretary Zeya, President Osmani talked about Kosovo's progress in fulfilling the commitments arising from the Summit for Democracy and the intensification of Kosovo-US cooperation. 

President Osmani also spoke about the establishment of the Council for Democracy and Human Rights as evidence of the engagement of Kosovo's institutions to fulfilling the commitments within the Summit for Democracy, including strengthening the rule of law, democracy, role of women in Kosovar society, the advancement of human rights and freedoms as well as cooperation with civil society and the media.
 
The President stressed that Kosovo stands on the same line as our allies in defense of democratic values. “At a time when democracies around the world have become a direct target of increasingly authoritarian tendencies, the Summit for Democracy is a platform that has united countries from all over the globe in their efforts to consolidate democratic values and to promote and further empowered them, “said President Osmani.
 
At the invitation of President Carlos Alvarado Quesada, President Osmani is staying in the Republic of Costa Rica, where she will be attending the inauguration ceremony of the president-elect of Costa Rica, Rodrigo Chaves. During her visit to San José, the President will meet with the state leaders of this state and will hold meetings with representatives of other states.
