The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani during her visit to New York accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and at the same time Minister for Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Donika Gërvalla-Schwarz, met the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic States, Hissein Brahim Taha.
President Osmani thanked Mr. Taha for the support that this organization has provided to Kosovo since the declaration of independence onwards. In particular, she thanked the Secretary-General for the Resolution that was recently approved by the OIC, which called for all the member states of this organization to recognize Kosovo.
At the same time, President Osmani emphasized that it is of importance to Kosovo to expand its partnership with the OIC in fighting global challenges and finding common solutions.
In this context, she added that the strengthening of Kosovo's international position contributes to long-term and stable peace in the region and beyond.
In this spirit, President Osmani emphasized the importance of new recognitions by the member states of this organization, stressing that the international empowerment of Kosovo increases the possibility for a peaceful, stable and prosperous Western Balkans.
