The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani met today with the Chief Executive Officer of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Mr. Mahmoud Bah, during which meeting the strong partnership between Kosovo and MCC was reconfirmed once again.
At the meeting with Mr. Bah, President Osmani praised the role and work undertaken by MCC in Kosovo in promoting good governance, rule of law, and advancing the energy sector, as preconditions for the economic development of the country. President Osmani expressed the readiness of the institutions to continue the cooperation. President Osmani particularly praised the US decision to allocate 200 million euros for Kosovo via the MCC, emphasizing that this decision will have a direct impact on economic performance in the country.
Speaking about the needs of the energy sector, President Osmani encouraged investment support in increasing the efficiency of the distribution system, energy-saving and also in training of the workforce required by the energy sector in the future. In this context, President Osmani praised the work being done to empower girls and women in the energy sector.
