On the side-lines of the Doha Forum, the President of the Republic of Kosovo Dr. Vjosa Osmani Sadriu held a meeting with the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kristalina Georgieva.
During the meeting they discussed the relations and cooperation of the Republic of Kosovo with the IMF, the overall economic situation in Kosovo and the region as well as the potential economic effects of the war in Ukraine.
President Osmani briefed the IMF Managing Director on the developments in Kosovo and in the region, with particular emphasis on the steps that the Republic of Kosovo is taking to maintain political and economic stability, in response to current global challenges created by Russia's aggressive war against Ukraine.
President Osmani expressed gratitude for the commitment of the International Monetary Fund to the Republic of Kosovo and reconfirmed the importance that the Republic of Kosovo attaches to cooperation with the IMF.
The Executive Director of the IMF, Mrs. Georgieva praised the overall progress in the Republic of Kosovo, emphasizing, in particular the economic and fiscal stability of the Republic of Kosovo.
Ms. Georgieva reiterated the commitment to continue and deepen communication and cooperation between the IMF and the Republic of Kosovo.
