President Osmani met with the leader of the parliamentary majority, and the heads of the committees on foreign relations and internal affairs in the US Senate

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu was received today at meetings by the United States Senate Majority Leader Senator Chuck Schumer, the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Senator Bon Menendez and the chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee, Senator Gary Peters.

During the meeting with Senator Chuck Schumer President Osmani discussed the increase of cooperation between Kosovo and the United States at a time when the unification of democracies around the world in the fight against autocracies is becoming increasingly important. President Osmani thanked Senator Schumer for his contribution to date to Kosovo and the Albanian-American community, emphasizing the importance of continuing American support for Kosovo at this challenging time for our continent.

At the meeting with the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the US Senate, Senator Bob Menendez, the President discussed the situation in our region after the Russian military aggression on Ukraine and the fact that there is a constant interest from Russia and its ally in the region, Serbia, to undermine the achievements of the people of Kosovo and the American achievements in our country. President Osmani and Senator Menendez also discussed the possibilities of increasing cooperation between our two countries in various fields and the importance of Kosovo's membership in international organizations.

And at the meeting with Senator Gary Peters, Chairman of the Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs, President Osmani thanked Senator Peters for his support to Kosovo for a considerable time period. President Osmani also discussed with the senator the importance of American support at a time when our region is facing challenges created by Russian proxies and the importance of Kosovo's membership in NATO, as well as in other international organizations.
