The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, accompanied by Foreign Minister Donika Gërvalla, during their stay in Ankara met with the Foreign Minister of Turkey, Mevlut Çavusoglu.
At the meeting, among other things, there was discussed about cooperation in the field of foreign policy, defense, security, trade exchange, healthcare and other areas of mutual interest. The President stressed that relations with Turkey have the potential to expand and deepen further, in particular by encouraging more investment in the Republic of Kosovo and increasing Kosovo’s exports to Turkey. She further emphasized the importance of Kosovo’s membership in international organizations, as a process from which all the citizens of Kosovo will benefit, regardless of ethnicity.
In this context, President Osmani stressed that together with the allies, the destabilization of the Western Balkans region will not be allowed. According to President Osmani, peace and a secure future of the region is possible with the membership of Kosovo and the Western Balkan countries in the EU and NATO.
