The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani received today in a meeting the Federal Chancellor of Austria, Karl Nehammer, from whom she received support for the acceleration of Kosovo’s EU membership process.
Topic of discussion with Chancellor Nehammer was also the Russian military aggression in Ukraine and its effects in the Western Balkans. President Osmani stressed the risk of destabilization of the region by Russia and its ally Serbia, which we must prevent in coordination with our allies. Further, the President stressed that with the unprovoked Russian aggression against Ukraine, security in Europe is critical. President Osmani further stressed that the unification of the European Union against the Russian aggression against Ukraine should be followed by unified EU actions towards the Western Balkans to accelerate the membership of the countries of the region in the EU.
According to President Osmani, Kosovo’s position on Ukraine is fully in line with the position of the EU, the USA and all democratic countries.
At the meeting with Chancellor Nehammer, the cooperation between the two countries in areas of mutual interest was also discussed.
