President Osmani met with the Chancellor of Austria, Sebastian Kurz

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, in the framework of her official visit to Austria, met today with Chancellor Sebastian Kurz.

At the meeting with Chancellor Kurz, President Osmani expressed her gratitude for the continued support provided by Austria to Kosovo. She stated that it is in Kosovo's interest that this support continues with the visa liberalization process and in strengthening of Kosovo's international subjectivity.

 

President Osmani also stressed Kosovo's readiness to further expand bilateral relations. In this regard, President Osmani highlighted the opportunities for expansion of the cooperation between the two countries in the fields of economy, information technology, green agenda and other areas.


At the meeting, Ms. Osmani thanked Chancellor Kurz for 95 thousand Pfizer vaccines which were provided for Kosovo by the European Union, on which Austria helped in carrying out the procedural requirements.


President Osmani at the meeting with Chancellor Kurz pointed out that the people of Kosovo are the most pro-European, and asked the EU to implement visa liberalisation and keep its promise.


Regarding the dialogue with Serbia, President Osmani reiterated the position for equal dialogue between the parties, ending in mutual recognition.


President Osmani also stressed that preconditions for lasting peace in the region are justice for the victims of the recent war in Kosovo, bringing to light the fate of those missing by force during the war and respect for the sovereignty and constitutional and territorial integrity of the Republic of Kosovo.
