President Osmani met with the ambassadors of Croatia, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic and Hungary concerning visa liberalization and membership in the Council of Europe

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani continued her meetings with ambassadors of various EU countries accredited in Kosovo regarding the liberalization of visas and membership in the Council of Europe. Today, she met the ambassadors of Croatia, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic and Hungary.

At the meeting with the ambassadors, President Osmani thanked Croatia, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic and Hungary for the continuous support they have provided to Kosovo in the visa liberalization process, inclusive of the last meeting of the technical working group of the European Council.

President Osmani has emphasized that it is more important that this support continues even further, in the visa liberalization process until this decision enters into force.

In this context, President Osmani said that EU member countries should take into account the recommendation of the European Commission, which has already confirmed that it supports the lifting of visas as Kosovo has met all the criteria.

According to President Osmani, political decision-making during the Czech Presidency is more than urgent and visa liberalization should not remain hostage to any technicality.
Along the same line, President Osmani asked for the continuation of support to Kosovo in the process of membership in the Council of Europe, in which human rights and freedoms can be protected, promoted and advanced.
