The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani declared Friday (March 25, 2022), a day of mourning in honor of Kosovo’s great friend, Madeleine Albright, former US Secretary of State.
“As a sign of state honor, Friday, March 25, 2022, is declared a day of mourning in the Republic of Kosovo to remember the great friend of Kosovo, Madeleine Albright, who passed away yesterday. Mrs. Albright knew the pain of our people because she had also experienced persecution since childhood, therefor she stood determined against Milosevic until his genocide in Kosovo was stopped. She supported Kosovo unceasingly until the last breath, therefore the people of Kosovo will remember her forever”, said President Osmani.
By decision of President Osmani, state flags are raised at half-mast in all state buildings of the Republic of Kosovo, domestically and abroad.
