Today, the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu and Prime Minister Albin Kurti will be received in a meeting by the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken.
The focus of the discussions will be the deepening of the Kosovo-USA bilateral partnership at a strategic level, the joint engagement in addressing challenges to peace and security in the region and Europe, as well as support for Kosovo in strategic sectors.
The meeting with Secretary of State Blinken will be held at a defining period for security and peace in our region, and also for the European continent and beyond as a result of Russia’s war in Ukraine.
At the meeting, President Osmani will request the continuation of American support for strengthening the international position of Kosovo, including membership into international organizations. She will also inform Secretary Blinken about the steps that Kosovo has undertaken in the advancement of the Euro-Atlantic journey, as well as about the active commitment of Kosovo’s institutions related to the implementing reforms in the field of the rule of law.
In order to open new chapters of cooperation under the framework of bilateral strategic partnership, the intensification of cooperation in the field of defense, economy and other areas of special importance will be discussed. The meeting will be held today at the US State Department at 4:30 p.m. local time in Washington D.C., respectively at 10:30 p.m. Kosovo time.
