President Osmani and Minister Gërvalla met with the President of Guyana, Mr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, and Minister Gërvalla, in continuation of their meetings with world leaders during their stay in New York met with the President of Guyana, Mr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali.

At the meeting with President Ali, President Osmani provided an overview of developments in Kosovo and in the region including political and economic developments as well as the challenges caused by the pandemic.

Also, President Osmani asked Guyana for its support in lobbying its neighbouring countries in Central and South America to recognize Kosovo's independence.

Regarding the dialogue with Serbia, President Osmani stressed that the dialogue makes sense only if it will conclude with mutual recognition within the current borders and according to the current legal order.

In addition, President Osmani discussed the expansion of relations between the two countries. She touched upon promoting investment opportunities, trade and economic exchanges.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Donika Gërvalla, stressed the importance of cooperation in education, tourism and other areas of mutual interest.

President Ali said that Guyana has consistently supported Kosovo and expressed readiness to deepen relations between the two countries. He stressed the readiness of Guyana institutions to intensify relations with Kosovo and reiterated his support for the process of membership in international organizations.
