President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu, Prime Minister Albin Kurti, US Chargé d’Affairs Alyson Grunder and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Donika Gërvalla-Schwarz, paid tribute and placed wreaths of flowers at the “Kosovo Remembers” memorial plaque, on the occasion of the 21st anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the USA.
President Osmani's full statement:
Today on September 11, together with the prime minister, The Deputy Prime Minister and with the US Deputy Ambassador, we join all the American people to share the pain for more than 3000 thousand lives lost in a battle that once again proved to be a battle of values.
On September 11th, 2001, American citizens, the citizens of the United States of America, were under one of the most terrible terrorist attacks in the history of mankind, but that day it was not only America that was attacked, but all of us who believe in the same values as well, in the values of freedom and democracy.
From that year on, the people of Kosovo have stood with the American people every day, we have joined forces in the defense of these values, we have joined forces in the fight against terrorism and Kosovo has also proven to be an example in the defense of these same values.
Hence, we will continue to stand together with our friends and allies; the United States of America just as the US has stood by us at every moment and every step of our history.
