President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs Atifete Jahjaga delivered a message on the occasion of the November 28th-Flag Day and the 100th Anniversary of the Independence of Albania.
The message states:
This is a marked day in the history of our nation, the day of rising of the National Flag in Vlora, of the declaration of the Independence of Albania, day that established the state in our lands.
This century began with the Independence of Albania and foreclosed with the Freedom and Independence of Kosovo.
On this 100th anniversary, with piety, we honour the sacrifice and undertakings of all the generations, we praise our common engagement and take steps ahead, Republic of Kosovo and Republic of Albania, as two sovereign and independent countries, towards the membership into European Union and NATO, in permanent friendship with the United States of America.
Albanian nation today is free wherever Albanians live, in all its lands. We, as never before in our history, have the chance to work towards general advancement and towards realization of our common vision.
