President Jahjaga visited the US Mission to the European Union

President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, was received today at the US Mission to the EU by the US Ambassador to EU, Mr. William Kennard and Deputy Assistant Secretary of the State, Ambassador Philip Reeker.

In her discourse with Ambassadors Kennard and Reeker, President Jahjaga expressed the gratitude of the citizens of Kosovo and of the institutions of the country for the help that USA is providing to Kosovo and to all the processes through which our country is going through. She emphasized that Kosovo has achieved important advances in its European agenda and is dedicated towards achievement of the necessary standards required for EU integration.

President Jahjaga also emphasized that Republic of Kosovo has no other alternative except the path of Euro-Atlantic integration and stated that Kosovo is playing an important role as a promoter of good neighbourliness. She said that normalisation of relations between the Republic of Kosovo and Republic of Serbia contributes to the peace and stability in the region and expressed her support for the dialogue process being undertaken in Brussels between the Governments of the two countries with the mediation of EU and strongly supported by the USA.

President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, stated that the meeting with the President of the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Tomislav Nikolić, is in function of the relaxation and normalisation of the relations between the two sovereign and independent states, and acceleration of the European agenda of Kosovo.

Ambassadors Kennard and Reeker stated that USA will continue to remain side by side to Kosovo in all the processes through which Kosovo is going through. Both Ambassadors praised the leadership of President Jahjaga and said that the meeting between the two Presidents will help towards normalisation of relations between the two states. Ambassadors Kennard and Reeker expressed their support to the dialogue process being held in Brussels which aims to ease the lives of the citizens of both countries.
